Equity Program – Grads 7 & 8

The Equity program:

Grade 7 & 8 students from the Morell Consolidated School and Mt. Stewart Consolidated Class.  The class time is  8:40am – 9:20am

Grade Seven Program

The grade seven students will start with a woodworking project that involves most hand tools.  The students will be cutting, plaining, sanding, coping, and assembling.  No power tools are used in this project.  Each class will have a component of safety based on the progress of the project. 

This program will end with instruction and projects on the elements of art – line, shape, and color.  Grades are based on the completion and evaluation of each project.

Grade Eight Program

The grade eight program will involve a design, and construction of a very attractive painted and finished wood puzzle.  Two stationary power tools are used in this project – the band saw and the drill press.  Safety instruction is given on all equipment and students must demonstrate proper use of equipment while under the instructors supervision.  This program will finish with the instruction and involvement of the elements and the principles of art.
